The site at 17 Endless Street had stood vacant since 2019 following the closing of Buzz Bingo. Everyman Cinemas first applied for permission to convert the site into a four-screen cinema in May of last year.
The building was originally built as a cinema in the 1930s, and Everyman Cinemas told the Journal in April that it was “proud to honour these historic roots with its innovative and redefined cinema experience.”
The opening of the new cinema will mean Salisbury’s ODEON will see competition for the first time in over 50 years.
As part of its celebrations on opening Friday, June 2, Everyman Cinemas is offering “Founder Membership” to the first 300 people in Salisbury to become members, which will include two free small bags of popcorn and a bottle of wine per visit.
