Dan Fitchett, 34, played 11 seasons for Salisbury FC and its predecessor, Salisbury City FC, and scored crucial goals while at the Ray Mac.
On Monday, May 26, he posted on Instagram announcing his retirement saying: “Not one for an emotional post but I wanted to announce that the time has come for me to officially hang up my boots.”
The striker left the club in June 2024 before returning again in January 2025.
He has had a fantastic career and it includes four promotions, two FA Cup runs playing Arsenal & Sheffield Utd and two England C caps.

From playing as a kid, to my final match at 34, I’ve been lucky enough to live out my childhood dream.

They welcomed me as one of their own from day one and have continued supporting me loyally through to my last game. The club has played a central role in my football journey that I will forever be grateful for.
“Football has been a massive part of my life but I now look forward to the next chapter welcoming baby Fitchett in a few weeks.”
Dan first arrived at the Ray Mac on loan from Wycombe Wanderers in 2010 before joining the club permanently for the 2011/12 season.
The 2024-25 season saw the striker make 20 appearances for Salisbury FC overall, scoring four goals.
