Wiltshire Police, the Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC), and local agencies are working together through the Salisbury Business Crime Reduction Partnership to improve safety for staff, customers, and the wider community.
The partnership helps businesses and agencies share information, identify repeat offenders, and take coordinated action.
Recent joint efforts have led to progress in tackling persistent offenders.
A letter from Police and Crime Commissioner Philip Wilkinson and Chief Constable Catherine Roper reinforces this message and calls for continued collaboration.
The letter emphasises the importance of reporting crimes and sharing evidence to improve the collective response.
It also highlights the partnership’s direct reporting system, which makes it easier for businesses to submit information and evidence.
“Retail crime remains a significant challenge for communities across the country, affecting businesses of all sizes and the people who work within them.
“Through partnership working, Salisbury has developed a collaborative approach that aims to reduce offending, improve information sharing and support those affected by crime.”
Businesses are also being encouraged to nominate a Retail Crime Champion to help maintain communication with partners, share information within their organisation, and promote crime prevention activities.
This work is part of wider efforts to improve community safety across the area.
